I like #2, but I'd be tempted to crop about half the sky off.

Yeah.. cropping is subjective. The intent was to show lots of wide open space. Also... there is a 4 lane highway below the windmill so I chose to crop it out rather than leave it.

Yeah number two will be ace with a bit of cropping.

I love #2 - don't crop the sky off, it's breathtakingly big!

The second one is beautiful!

Thanks... check this out. This is a crop of the windmill image above. I used the rule of thirds and "centered" (remember... centered is relative when you use rule of thirds) on the windmill... The composition didn't change much :)

That's what I was shooting for Keira... Thanks!

Hey Mike, I hope you don't mind my crop. This is how I saw your windmill picture. I cropped it a little tighter at the bottom to remove the angled line (road edge?). Cool picture, by the way. :-D

Ahh....very good crop. I like it. A lot...

I need to go back thru the 280 images I took when I was travelling and see if I took any in that orientation. The first one was taken with the camera rotated 90 degrees...

Great shots. I have to admit I like JT's crop of the second one better. It condenses your view and makes you apreciate all of the features in one glance.

I was thinking (and it didn't hurt either). Put JT's crop in the middle. Mine on the left side. Mirror mine and put it on the right side... That would make a pretty cool looking setup...

Note to self... if you shoot something with the camera rotated 90 degrees, go ahead and shoot it in the normal orientation in case you want a wide look at it. I can't believe I shot everything in that set with the camera rotated 90 degrees.
