Hey guys...
Just a quick semi-legal question. Do i need to get special permission from a client to use thier shot in my portfolio? Would there be a special release associated with it?

Just a model release is all that is required, as long as it covers everything.

Gotcha... and what if they are unionized actors? Isn't their likeness quite strictly protected?

I don't know about that. Probably something to speak with a lawyer about.

Ask a lawyer, ans mentioned above, but my understanding is that if you have a signed Model release that spells out the intent, nothing prevents you from using the shots in your portfolio for self promotion as long as you DON'T sell any of the images.
