Well I boughta digital Rebel last week and have been happy with the camera but hated the lens that came with it. I sold an Olympus E10 to get, the e10 had a great f2.0-2.4 lens. Anyway I bought the tamron 2.8 and have been extremely happy with it. I took a couple dozen test shots and and most of them were razor sharp and required no USM, some did a little. The 18-55mm Canon lens needed a lot of USM, I only took a few photos total with that lens that I thought would pass. Anyway if you plan on getting the new DRebel buy the body and get a decent lens.
