very beautiful shots. I prefer the third one for the warm colors in the water as well as the reflection still being present. also having the bird quartered towards you makes the image more appealing.

Very nice series of a duck I have never seen and I think the 3rd is my pick for the detail, color, exposure and reflection.

Good series of the Pintail duck. The first shot is good for composition while the third shot is good for detail with a very nice relection. The last shot, I love head shots of ducks because you can bring out extremely good detail of the birds eye and bill, which you have managed with this last shot. Well done Stan.

Excellent shots of the Pintail Duck. Number three is my favorite. Sharp with good details and I love the reflection. Brilliant. :-)

Beautiful shots of the Northern Pintail, hands down one of the most elegant ducks in the bird world.

Beautiful bird and shots!

Ist one gets my vote...love the water colors.

PS: Try to shoot ducks at their eye level to make viwer feel their eye to eye with the duck.

Mike - I believe the 2nd and 3rd shots are with the 100-400L, but the other 2 were with the 70-300 IS.

Marc - thanks for reminding me. I try to get to duck eye level whenever possible but my knees aren't what they used to be :)
