great shot .. however i am not truly convinced it's a snapper? i'm thinking it may be a box turtle?

I had a turtle once but he ran away. He was a red-eared turtle and I used to feed him gold fish. He was FIESTY! I think its in a turtles nature!

The shot is a bit blurry and grainy. With all tht sun and high Aperature I maybe would have used a little higher ISO and a little faster shutter speed. But I'm sure you didn't have much time to set up this shot.

Likely the meanest wildlife in the area next to the few black bears that are wandering in from Pennsylvania.

Black bears are mean now? News to me...here in Pennsylvania.

Anyway, I agree that's not a snapper. Here's a shot I took a few weeks back of one http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/jrh312/Outdoor/Wildlife/April142006026resize.jpg

I'm with Okiebass here....that's an eastern box turtle. Good shot though

OOps Thanx to the sharp eyed turtle watchers in above comments. I did check this morning againt a live specimen of a box turtle at the nature center. That's exactly what it is.
