Today I shot a small product shot and removed the memory card, then put it into my pc.card reader and inserted into the computer...here comes the problem..I opened up the card on the desktop, dragged out the file named #104 onto the desktop and burned it onto a cd...now when I open the cd up and click on the quicktime.jpeg that I want to view I get a message...Couldn't display"img_0445.JPG" because a suitable graphics importer could not be found. I know I should have opened up the file, then dragged the jpegs to a folder on the hard drive and made a copy...but I didn't. Is there a way of getting these photos to open....also when I tried to put the card back into the camera I got a CF error message and had to reformat the card and lost my images. All that I have is the cd with the images on it that I cannot open...I am stuck! Help!

Have you tried first opening the program that you would view this file in, and then opening the file in to the program?

hi...

i'm guessing you are using a mac (that message sounds just like the one i get sometimes)

you can either: force pictureviewer (or photoshop) to open the file (by selecting, file, open and selecting the file)

or...

get a copy of jpeg view

jpeg view (http://www.versiontracker.com/moreinfo.fcgi?id=2278&db=mac)

there is a jpeg autotyper that will force the file to be interpreted as a jpeg file...jpegview is a free program...

you may want to try graphic converter, too

graphic converter (http://www.versiontracker.com/moreinfo.fcgi?id=1870&db=mac)

i've had the best luck opening stubborn files with gc...

if it is NOT corrupt you should be able to open it with one of these programs...

hope this helps : )
