I have been considering my options as to which lens I would buy next.
I shoot motorsport and if I was honest I also enjoy outddor scenes, flowers and animals
I was looking at the following:
100-400 f4.5-5.4 IS
400 f5.4
300 f4 and 1.4 tcon
I discounted the 400 as IS is important to me
I have tried the 100-400 and quite liked it although I am unsure of the push/pull design. My other thought on the 100-400 is that it would spend most of its time between 300 and 400 and when I want lower I have my 70-300 IS, I find this a very useful lens and the fact thats its light, small and not white makes it very inconspicuous (spelling) and great to use for panning shots
So I think the 100-400 is out, like I say I have the 70-300
This leaves me with the 300 f4 + 1.4 tcon. -
The way I say it, its gives me a nice sharp 300 and a pretty dame good 400 (with the 1.4x). Its versitile 300 or 400 Its lighter at 300 than the 100-400. It has IS so can still use handheld and for panning shots. It has excellent close up ability. I can get cash back for it and the 1.4 tcon (£140) making it an excellent buy.
Typing this has also helped get me thought down and I still think I am going in the right direction?
