What are your favorite lenses to use for wedding photography? Prime & Zoom.

Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di
Don't own one yet, but the Canon 85mm f/1.2L. If you don't mind MF the Jupiter 85mm f/1.8 is another excellent choice.

24-70L. I'll be looking forward to trying the 16-35L at a wedding, though. Groups will be much easier!

16-35 2.8L, Tamron 28-75 2.8XR Di, and 70-200 4.0. I also carry my Tamron 90mm macro for ring shots prior to the ceremony. My favorite - 16-35 - wouldn't leave home without it!!

Most used is the 24-70L, but the favorite is the 85 1.8. I can't say enough about the quality of the portraits I get from that lens. But alas, the zoom is much better to use .

Tough one - I love them all! My favorite results usually come from the 35 1.4, the 28-70 f2.8, and the 70-200 IS. Don't use it much anymore, but the 85 f1.8 always makes me happy too. For sheer utility, if I could only have one lens, something in the 17-xxx wins. Used to be the 17-40 f4, these days it's the 17-55 IS.

24-70L covers at least 80% of my shots and could do more if I didn't try to use others.

I use the canon 75-300 in the portrait room I set in the church, I use the Tamron 28-75 for most eveything else. If I need wide angle I use my Canon 17-55
;) :) :D

50mm/1.4.... without a doubt.
But this year I have the 85mm/1.2 and am shooting my first wedding with it in August.

You have my lens!! I want that 85 quite bad.
For prime right now I love my 50 1.4 as well.
Everything else I use my 24-105 f/4L IS.
I use my 17-40L for large group formals.
With my 1.6x crop frame I need to get a 35mm prime. I've heard good things about the 30mm sigma, but it's for 1.6x crop cameras only.

After doing heaps of research, the Canon 24 - 70L comes out on top as an overall favorite by many wedding photographers. I was torn between that and the new 17-55 2.8IS, but had to settle for the 24-70L for its ruggedness/build quality and the fact that I have a 35mm EOS too.
