Some of the Canon Printers can be directly connected to 10D.
I hate the Epson 2200, and Comp USA is now selling Canon S9000 Printer for $268.00.

Direct Connect w/b fantastic.

This is a personal thing, but I wouldn't dream of spending ink and paper on shots that I haven't touched up in PS first. You also lose all benefits of raw, since you can't print those direct, nor would you want to. So dpof is not any benefit for me... as I typically don't take 'perfect' print-ready pics.

But yes, I believe the s9000 is direct connect.

i heard nothing but the best things about your 2200 though. that's a top of the line device.

Ditto:
I can't imagine direct printing anything without 'tweaking' it in Photoshop. Curious: if you shoot everything in RAW, will the direct connect work?

It would be interesting to know.

I own the S9000 and it is not a direct connect printer. It will only print from the computer.

Canon does not make a wide format printer that will print from the camera as yet. The new I900D is the latest direct connect bubble jet from Canon.

The answer is no. You must shoot in JPEG to use DirectPrint or PictBridge (at least in the S50 and dRebel cases, but I think this is valid for the whole RAW-capable Canon cameras)

I own the S9000 and you cannot direct print to it, but the output is wonderful, which is the bottom line for me.
