Just my luck

I asked my mother, who was overseas, to get me some CF cards for my camera. I made sure I explained it to her. I used the full name "Compact flash" and told her the shape, etc. Then I told her not to get them for me because I couldn't afford to pay her back.

I get to her place today and I see a 2gig and a 1 did SD card sitting there. "I hope they aren't for me?" and she sayd "Why not?" "Because they aren't Compact flash cards!" "Oh bugger - oh well I will just use them then, they go with my camera" :rolleyes:


GAH... I could have had three gig of storage for free if only my mother used her head. Now I have that feeling of not expecting something then having it dangled infront of me and then taken away. Would have felt a lot better if she hadn't gotten any cards so I knew it wasn't almost in my hot little hands.

Okay, I know I sound like a selfish little brat but I just needed to vent

haha, yeah. She has a habit of buying me gifts.. and funnily enough they are gifts I would never EVER like and she goes "Oh goodie, well I will keep it then"

She has even admitted to doing that

Just a thought, you could ask her to buy you a 1D Mk2 for your birthday and then you could use the SD cards :lol:
