Rethumbnail question

Does Rethumbnail just rebuild the thumbnails for selected photos or does it recreate the microthumbs as well?

I seem to have a problem with some microthumbs dissappearing and I don't seem to be able to recreate them with the rethumbnail option

There is a dropdown menu to choose what it recreates. If you have rethumbnail problems, choose the smallest size option, if that does not help check the originals. EE 2 will have much better result/error reporting in this respect.
