In this candid shot, I think the expressions on the grandmother and granddaughter are priceless - but the busy background couldn't be worse!!

I tried cloning it out, but the wispy hair of both subjects is so much a part of the picture, that when I was finished, they looked like they were wearing plastic helmets.
Any suggestions, Please!!
Thanks a lot..........Don

Hi, I recently had a problem similar to yours taking pictures of a parade. You could try using the desaturate sponge tool to tone the colours of the background down, so that the people in the foreground are more vibrant and stand out more. Just a suggestion?

They look great and this is a cute a shot. I agree the background needs work. I took the picture and cut out just their faces and found that did not solve the problem. Not much you can do about building the shot when it is a cadid shot. I think I know these two people.
Good luck

Duplicate layer
blur the layer in the back
erase the front layer except for the two people
fine tune to your preference...

Thanks a lot jinzou and Ronin!
I've never tried than kind of stuff with PS Elements, but obviously the time has come to bite the bullet and try it. I'll let you know how I do.
(Goldfinger, you're a smartass!)
