every photographer must have many pics that they have thought looked great when checking their lcd monitor, only to find later they werent so good, here is three of mine that i would loved to be keepers,
the first is a uk kestral with his wings in the position i have been trying to catch for many years, unfortunatly he was just too far for the s2 tele converter

the second a kestrel again this time as the light was fading , he/she came around a corner and i thought great with the fading light in the background this is going to be the pic of the day, but with the fading light plus the speed of the bird there was nothing in focus,

the third of the very tiny british wren looked like nothing could go wrong, an early morning shot in very good light ,but a couple of fir trees were blowing in the wind casting some shadows ,the shadow only apeared on this cut tree as i took the pic, once the wren flew off i took another pick of the tree it was sitting on ill maybe post it on the landscape forum

I have had many missed oppurtunities. Most of my shots especially the in-flight ones end up in my Macs trash can.
But you remember that one shot you took of that other bird, surely you have a great image to download to the computer to find that's it's terrible.

I know the feeling. But that first shot of the kestrel and the position of the wings is quite interesting. It's almost like the kestrel is doing a ballerina dance

Shame though about the dark shadow on the third shot, the Wren is a beautiful bird nevertheless you managed to get one framed.
