I just placed an order and hope I did not screw up.
I ordered 8 prints that are 16x20. I want a glossy finish on them so I ordered the standard prints (non-metalic) with the lustre coating.
Did I do this right?

Lustre is closer to matte than gloss.

What is confusing is it says the paper type is "matte", so I assumed the pics would not be gloss. I checked lustre thinking it would be gloss. I'm past the 30 minutes but I left them a email and I'll call them in the morning.

Lustre is closer to matte than gloss. so that would tell me it is not a true matte finish? It will have more shine than a matte finish? Just not as much shine as a gloss?

It's a matte finish that protects as well as a gloss finish. It definitely isn't glossy by any definition. I prefer it to gloss, but that's subjective.

I guess we will see.....I printed 8 collages 16x20 and I was thinking I wanted gloss just so the colors would pop. One of them I will carry around mounted on a foam board, the others will be behind glass so I'm thinking the matte finish may be better to reduce glare.

If you're looking to avoid glare, the frame shop I use has special "glareless" glass.
