This is the time of year when some of the High School teams start to get together for their 7 on 7 camps. Hot June days under the bright noon sun, perfect weather for photography...

Here are a couple of the action shots:

I like your pictures. In #2, he actually caught it? Looks like he already had his fingers closed before it got there.

Thanks!

I think he might have come up with it in the fall had he not landed on this guy...

Yeah, falling on someone doesn't help any. Do you have trouble with your drebel sometimes focusing on something else when taking sports photos? I'm not sure if it's me (most likely) or the camera not able to keep up.

Yeah, I do have some problems with that at time, a lot of it can be remedied by selecting a focus point, when shooting football I use the center one.

I like the camera and it has served me well, but lack of AIServo on the DRebel is my biggest complaint. While technically it does have it, but only in Sports mode which is useless since it locks you out of all the other important settings like aperature and ISO.

I use the center focus point also. The times I have trouble the most is when I'm shooting indoor sports. I guess that's the most frustrating part, you think you have a really good shot and it's OOF. OK end of rant and sorry for getting off the subject of your pictures.
Although it must be nice to get shots with no helmets in the way.

I love being able to take football type pictures with no helmets!
