is the whole pic "crap" ?
I took this pic of my 2 year old laying on the floor -
I really like the way he's looking at me - but to me, the crop looks like I'm focusing on his hands moreso than his face..
Does it "work" for you ? am I cutting off too much of his head ?

Absolutely!
And that is why I like the shot so.
I am not sure, but it looks like "Itsy Bitsy Spider". Those delicate little hands really do draw me into the shot.
If you are in an editing mood, try cloning out the jewelery, and muting the black area above his head.
But to restate - as if you can't tell - the crop works for me as a viewer.

WOW thank you guys sooo much :)
WOW.
It's not itsy bitsy (even though it DOES look like it) .. my son has had three (one just this past Friday) brain surgeries and has cerebral palsy, etc - so he doesn't "pose" - but his eyes are extremely expressive and I'm looking to get some pics of him printed and hung around the house :)
I probably will clone out the bracelet and the black spot behind his head (that's his crib lol)
THANK YOU again for the responses !

I think the crop it too near the eyes. Looks like you cropped it so you could put your logo in the upper right corner. Try a slightly bigger crop to get your subject away from the edges some.

I think this picture is really cool!! The crop works for me, the only thing I would like is maybe a TEENY bit more contrast. But I'm a newb so who knows.

I love this picture and think you have done an excellent job capturing your son expressing himself in his own unique way.
