Those TS lenses are crazy. Great results :)
I'm seriously looking at one of these for a fun play around lens. Which size lens was it? Are they easy to work with i.e. how much experimentation/trial and error before you nailed that image? I'm no PS expert but how easily can the same effects be done in CS2?

Amazing how when the DOF is narrowed, the scene looks like a very detailed model. Nice effect :)
FWIW, CS2 has a lens blur plugin that can do similar... I think it requres using a mask to set the amount of blurring.... Don't have access to it at the moment, so thats all the detail I can spare.

Funny, I didn't even know there was a lens for this. Here's a tutorial from the latest Pop Photo: Christopher Phin (http://recedinghairline.co.uk/tutorials/fakemodel/index.html)

I'm pretty sure this IS the CS2 effect?

Is this a lens or processing? Either way, it's cool looking.

Given the fact that the OP's gear list doesn't list a TS lens, and that the plane of sharpness is more aligned with frame than object position, I'd say this is an after effect. The blur transition in the first seems way too fast on the bottom compared to the top of the frame. But who knows, it could have been a lensbaby.

I can smell a gradient mask a mile away on a cabbage farm.

For anybody in the UK there is a video tutorial on how to do this effect in this months copy of Digital Photo magazine.
