Hi guys,

I wanted to post a photo on the wildlife photoclub site and don't know which one to pick. I'm not going for a win here for I'm an amature. Please can you tell me which one of my photo's is better than other and why. Maybe I should post this in the gallery section but I want some critique. I saw some awesome photo's in this forum and want to learn more to upgrade to a 10D or something in future. Here's one of my photo's taken with my G3:

I like the picture and it's great we came so close to the animals. The one in the back is a litle Hippo. I had to stay away from the shore since these animals are agressive. Now that I look at it, it could be taken at the zoo.. Please tell me what seems better than other. Could not get closer to them.

btw this is taken in South Africa..

I prefer the second shot of the hippos (closer shot of one hippos face.)

I like some other great shots on your fotopic gallery too. Like the drinking giraffe, lined up deer, small looking elephant, and the tidal pool are ones I recall off hand that are very nice. The rhino has some nice shots.

Much better than what we find in our zoos here in Canada!

Bob,

I think you can improve your shots by a little processing in PS. I took the liberty of increasing contast with levels, sharpen and sharpen the eyes a little more.
Take a little mrore time and you can improve some of the great shots on your site as well.

Thanks a lot to both of you! Stopbath it's great to see em in nature instead of a zoo.. Thank you for picking out some of my photo's that are better for you than others.

Henk I like what you've done in PS. I'm not (yet) using PS to edit pictures but this sure does come out of the picture. Please feel free to adjust photo's in PS anytime! I'll take a look tomorrow if I can achieve the same thing you done here. Thanks a bunch! You make some of the better photo's (in my humble opinion of course) I've seen on this site..

cheers

Bob.
