Hy,
I just did buy my new g3 a week ago and made some nice pictures with it.
But now I am asking, does someone has experience with photographing – copying 35 mm. slides.
I am thinking of: Laying the camera in macro mode on it’s back on a table, put a 50 cm. Long black paper tube on the lens and just put there on top the slide. Above this al is hanging a lamp which I cover with thin white paper so the light will be equalized.
Will this work ?

Hello,
I found an easier way. Rather than renting a slide copier or purchasing one. They run about $300.00 to purchase or 50.00/25.00 per day. I use my old slide projector. With a white cardboard pasted on the wall I'm able to fill the frame. Copies look pretty good. Remember to change White Balance to Tungsten.
I have 44yrs of slides to copy onto a cd for my children and grand-children.
Hope this gives you an idea.
John.

You can digitize slides and negatives much easier with a film scanner such as the Minolta Scan Dual III. It's not only much easier, the quality will also be MUCH better than what you want to do with making digital photos of slides.

Another thought : Buy a good film-scanner, copy your slides, when you're finished, sell the scanner
(Works only if you won't make any more slides in the future)
