I posted this link on a recent thread, but on reflection, I thought it was so good, I thought it warranted its own thread.
Ken Rockwell link (http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/7.htm)
So which one of these best describes you? (multiple answers also acceptable) :D

That link sounded like it was written by a bitter close minded art snob.

lighten up, shame on us if we can't laugh at ourselves.

I am, without a doubt, a level one. No question about it. :-), btw, have you seen my lens collection lately?
That was actually a pretty entertaining read. Reminiscent of Dante's "Inferno" in a warped, banal way. But, I have to point out that the print on the webpage was backfocused slightly and I can prove it mathematically.
Take care,

When I first read the descriptions, I was unclear where I fell. Then I read it in Polish, and voila!
I'm a Bogaty Amator: Poziom 2 (wealthy amateur --- modified)
Ways in which I conform to the definition: I am-----
Old
Retired
Mostly man
I am not, however, wealthy.
I believe that fuzzy black and white pictures of poor people are a result of back-focusing in the wrong part of town.
Maybe that makes me a measurbator. I don’t think so, though, because if it's what I think it is, I was always told I’d go blind if I did it; so far I can see just fine.

Very funny! :)
I'm probably a combination of Levels 1 and 2. I must be a poorer rich amateur idiot because I have a Canon Digital SLR. But then I must also be a Measurbator because I'm an engineer who likes audio equipment, computers and automobiles. :D

I am defintly and Amateur, a bit of a Whore and unfortunatly since I also do computer techie stuff and love L glass I must be a partial measurbator.
Good laugh that is :)

LOL!! :)
Belmondo, you'll know what I mean when I call myself Bedniy Amatur.
I would be a Level 1 if I knew anything about circuits and such. I know I just like to play with shiny things with buttons :) and take them apart once in a while. But then I get bored, forget to put it back together and buy the next thing (hence I'm bedniy!).
I do aspire to be an Amateur, though whenever I lose myself in creating a photograph, I get pulled to the lowest level cause of thinking like "gee wouldn't a 1Ds or a big ole L lens make this a much better picture" !

I could not care less as to which group I belong to. I do not see any difference in the seven levels (Zen!) All are struggling souls.
One needs to resist the constant temptation to view himself as belonging to the highest group, however it is defined.
The moment one succumbs to that temptation, he has fallen to the lowest.
Regardless of the type of hobby or occupation, there are two types of "old" people.
There are those who remember what they were like when they were tadpoles, and the rest who do not.
Real humor lies in laughing about one's own errors, not in belittling others.
Real teaching is in learning the skills and helping the next generation that is struggling.

Excuse me. Did I miss something?
I don't see anyone here having fun at anyone else's expense. I do see a lot of self-deprecating humor, and that’s healthy. If you’re talking about the website, that’s satire, and I thought it was very entertaining.
OR
Maybe your posting was satire too, but I’m too dumb to get it. (more self-deprecation)

Belmondo, of course, I was talking about the web site.
Satire or not, it was NOT "self-deprecating" humor. It was about "they," rather than "I." It was not "I" made some stupid mistakes, but "they" are making idiotic mistakes.
I do not think this is healthy, although you took it with grace.
