I finally talked my g/f into getting in front of the camera, now I hope I can appeal to you guys and get some good comments on these, and suggestions on making it better would be welcomed as well.

In the first shot, I'd avoid putting her hand in front of her face. For a portrait we should be able to see her whole face as it's the focus of the image. The lighting in the second one is great, but you lose too much of her eye in shadow with the pose.

She looks a bit uncomfortable in these shots and that kind of detracts from the shots. Just my thoughts.

You have a beautiful model to work with, I hope to see more from you.

I have to agree with jtmorales. She is a beautiful girl so keep working on it. Would like to see a couple of her smiling.

Thank you for the info, I will remember that for next time..

As for the braces, she recently had some tooth surgery done and she is still getting used to them.

I thought maybe braces too...

She's gorgeous, but she looks so sad in these. Perhaps it was the intention. The first shot seems a bit overexposed and her hand should be fully under her chin. I love the second shot except, as noted above, the shadow over her right eye.
