I called Canon the other day and asked about rush service if my camera was to need repair. They don't offer that. I thought that was unusual seeing the amount of pro's who use Canon equipment. I called Olympus and they offer overnight exchanges on E series digital slr's. They also offer rush service on camera's that are out of warranty. I was just wondering if anyone has had there camera sent in to Canon and how long did it take to repair. The tech I talked to said the average turn around was 2 weeks. I guess it's always good to have backup. Thanks in advance for your reply's.

Two weeks for me. The test pictures I took appear to me better but I have not had a chance to actually use it with the exception of the bike race this weekend.

But you actually have to be a pro to get this service. In Canada (and I assume the US) they want to see tear sheets and so forth; so you have to prove that you are a professional photographer.

We'll find out... sent mine in on Saturday... I was told it would take 4-6 weeks so return is due around the 15th of November.

For what it's worth... mine had a small dot which I attributed to dust and figured I am airbush it out if it got too noticable. As time went on, the dot got bigger and darker. Took it to store I purchased it from and they told me that that was "more than just dust"... so we sent it back. We'll see what happens, and how long it takes.

my 10D left for it's fourth trip to canon service today. It usually takes them 10-15 days to not repair my camera and send it back in worse shape than I sent it to them in. I bought a 1D yesterday and it's broken out of the box.... we'll see how long it takes to repair it as well.
