Hi All
I am trying to watch the photos and movies captured by my new A620 on a TV by connecting with the provided AV cable. However I don't see anything on the TV either in the playback mode or in the shooting mode. The video mode on the camera is correct (PAL) for Europe although I also checked NTSC. I think I have connected the cables correctly as well. The manual asks to switch to the Video mode on the TV, which I did (not completely sure of that-is that the same mode in which I watch the DVD play).

If you have a button that says "input" on your TV remote, press it and see if that works.
On my TV at least it's different than the channel I use to watch DVDs.

Does the TV monitor have multiple inputs for composite video? Perhaps you have to cycle through input 1, input 2, etc. Are there inputs on both the front and rear of the TV? If so, there may be a menu choice to select one or the other. I have VCRs that require you to select either an "S-video" or a "composite" line in for an input... maybe your TV has a similar selection. Those are my best guesses without seeing your setup.

I can tell you how I do this on my Panasonic tv here in the UK, but not sure whether it will help you - anyway, the cable which came with my A620 has two plugs which connects to the tv: one is coloured yellow and the other is black. On the front of my TV, behind a drop-down flap, are three sockets; the yellow plug goes into the yellow coloured socket (labelled V (video?)), and the black plug goes into the white socket, which is labelled L (Left?). After that, use the tv remote to switch from TV mode to AV mode, then select AV3; power up the camera and you should see your images.

have you set the mode switch to playback?

Yes afra71, I set the camera to playback mode.
Jenkhay, I have a Sony TV. It has similar inputs as you described, although on the back of the set. I connect as you do. I am not sure, however of this AV mode on the TV remote. I will again have a look. I switch on the mode used for watching DVDs. That doesn't work.
Thanks

i think you have problem with your AVcable. try to borrow other AV cable to check if it is the problem. or you can check its continuity yourself if you have a multimeter tester

It appears the problem was with the TV set, one that I could not understand. With a different TV set, it works perfectly.
