I think I post too little on POTN. Time to get a new title, I want to join the "Gold member" crowd. Ok, people you've been warned! :D
Ah, the things you decide to do when bored....

Based on a posting rate of 1 every 16 seconds....from now through the weekend...you should have it covered in no time...:D

yeah, you'd think there would be a Gold Plated status for, say, 1500 posts :) :)
I'm a little shy of 2000 myself.
I feel an urge coming on...open every thread in the People-photo sharing forum and post a reply for each, "Nice Photo".
That's not cheating is it?

Woolburr ,
Posting rate every 16 secs? Yikes, I'm sooooo far behind!!!
CDS, I thought it was only the mods who had a secret handshake? ;)

Of course it isn't the quality that matters! It's always quantity. Numbers. Big numbers. Just look at everyone of us who happily quote which camera gear we have... ;)

ayotnoms, I was also considering going around to sharing forums and posting "Nice photo", but I just can't make myself comment on every photo that's posted!

Don't worry, Claire. You'll get there in no time. I took an extended hiatus from the forum and only had around 150 posts as of last November. Being involved in the POTN community will boost your number of posts in no time.
I'm working hard toward "Cream of the Crop" myself. :)

Hm, so maybe I should actually post photos myself and not just comment on others... LOL
I am really bored right now for some reason, so tonight may very well be a good night for boosting my post count. :) I've even been so bored I've been surfing MySpace and requested adds from James Blunt, Johnny Depp and Paris Hilton. LMAO Paris added me btw. ;)

Gold Member takes hard work. I still can't get that secret handshake right, but they let me through. :) Always enjoy your replies. Keep going. I've started a few threads lately because I finally have time to discuss the issues I'm thinking about. People have been kind and talk to me. You've posted quite a bit lately too. You'll get there by Saturday or Sunday. Then expect a PM on the secret handshake and the 5D will be on order for when you get to Cream of the Crop. Isn't that right? Ronald said that would come in the mail if I kept going. ;)

Suzy,
Whenever I'm on a forum my activity level goes up and down. I'll be awfully active for some period, then just read, then maybe get bored and leave for a while, come back and everything all over again.
I'm crap at starting threads though. Never have anything interesting to start! LOL
Oooh, I get a 5D if I become Cream of the Crop? I better get going...

I'm less than 800 away from Cream of the Crop, and that's just because I can type over 100 wpm. It's really sad. Then again, I probably talk faster than that. :) And starting threads is not as crucial as giving good comments. I mostly am insecure about purchases. People are nice and suggest things that are so helpful. Also, I've learned so much about being brave and just going out and shooting. I love it. With all that shooting, I've gained more knowledge and that I can pass on. Now maybe people will actually pay for my work. I can hope. :)

I too have not posted in a while, I was given some massive responsibility at work that has engulfed me. I have about 500+ pics on my computer that have never been looked at. Getting around to this place was a rare thing for me, but I think I am back. I don't know that I can post every 16 seconds though, it takes me that long just to type my name. Good Luck in your quest Claire, we'll be right here watching and counting................Joe

The only Salem I have heard about is Salem the cat in the sitcom "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch"

Very often it is raining in Denmark on this day/evening. But it looks like it won't rain to night so I will probably try to get a few photos. I have never been lucky with photographing bonfire.

Do you really want to spend time with a bunch of 25-27 y/o's who'll get drunk, talk about old friends, listen to hardrock, Sw artists, play silly games, get philosophical & are within close proximity to water?

I was lucky enough to be in both Sweden and Norway for their Midsummer celebrations about 25 years ago. It was interesting to see how the different countries celebrated. In Sweden, we wore flower wreaths in our hair and danced around a maypole. In Norway we went to a community picnic on a fjord with a HUGE bonfire. What a sight... all the bonfires up and down the shores of the fjord!
Happy Midsummer to all!

You make it sound like those are all bad things. Hangin' with friends isn't such a bad way to kill the weekend.

Yeah, they're pretty harmless people..Not close friends, majority I just know from Robert's previous parties.
But, the weather sucks, I'm strangely tired & got a headache, so no partying for me.

Summer starting is very uneventful here in the US. We don't have anything interesting except the holidays. In 2 weeks is July 4th and that's by far the biggest summer holiday and people hang flags out and barbeque and parade. Getting the first day of summer off sounds great.
I'm off today for some errands and will probably only post about 50, Ronald. You're still way ahead of me. And since Goldmember means 2000, that would have taken me only 40 days. :) I don't talk that much.

Nothing wrong with herring and potatoes...don't know about the strawberries with it, though.
As for your kids, Suzy- you yourself said you grew up eating some strange things in Hong Kong. No doubt your kids are a little more sensitive than you. :p

Me and my kids play the gross food game-
I say "Ice cream with tomato sauce"

I say "and raisins"
She says "and soy sauce"
until someone gets so gross we can't go on.....

That's a new one. I have 4 boys and they can get pretty gross. I'll have to try that on our vacation. :) And my boys are not very adventurous with food at all except my oldest. He can eat anything since went on a mission and those poor missionaries get fed interesting things. He never liked seafood, but now loves octopus.

Oh, they are definitely not mixed together (unless you count in the stomach!) ;)
Christmas and Midsummer food is fairly similar. Herring both holidays, but the new potatoes during Midsummer are considered special. Strawberries are prominent as I think it alludes to summer. If you're really going for the whole thing, don't forget to also drink a shot and sing "nubbevisor", drinking songs. Midsummer is considered a big holiday, that's why it's a national holiday over here. Everyone hangs out with family and party. It's a big party day, which of course leads to some trouble on the roads and drunk people here and there, but that's the same with all holidays.
