Took a few shots down the street at the river this past week. Was not sure how they would turn out. This is my first posting of this type and would appreciate any feedback.

I enjoyed these. I have to say, though, that the series appears to make the paddler look completely inept, on the verge of sinking and drowning even. I had to laugh, but I'm sure he was a very good kyaker in a tough spot on the river, right?

Thanks for sharing.

I think they are GREAT. I love being able to see their faces and the expresions. Love the close cropping as well!

Good I think. But little bit sunlight could make them better. Thanks

As a kayaker (and budding photographer) I can say that yes some of that stuff does take skill :) ecspecially the vertical stuff :)

Nice pictures though, Really gets the action.

:D I love that third shot. Very unique. It looks like he's trying to paddle his way out of the water and into the air.

Thanks all! Really appreciate the feedback.

Yes, the spot is rough at times for this area. For those that know the New Jersey area, it is Scudder Falls on the Delaware river just north of where I-95 crosses from PA into NJ. It is a spot that does attract a lot of kayakers from around the area

I'm confused - are they having issues or doing tricks?

Nice shots considering the light available. When shooting outdoor sports sometimes you just have to make due.

having some experience with paddling, I think he's good in that he's still alive. ;)

Really great captures. Good timing. Frozen action really well. Not sure if there is slight blur or if it's just compression issues, but I'd like to see them a little more crisp/sharp. Maybe a touch brighter as well.

All of them look way, cool! I love the compositions as well. The tight cropping provides great tension, which works well for this series, I think!
