Which Fstop do you think give the best effect? All Photo's untouched just resized using Photoshop Elements2 so the images keep the EXIF info.

Maybe I'm just too new to this. But I'm not particularly fond of the B&W imagery for this shot. The flower just doesn't stand out enough here irrespective of DoF. Makes the whole composition rather dull and lifeless.

For depth of field the F4 shot is better, though I like the flower at F8 better. I don't like F8 due to the clarity in the back ground is getting too defined.
I would agree with _Man_ about the greyness in the flower being too much. Perhaps you could raise the value of flower a stop or two, but not so much the stem.
The colour shot reveals the unique greenish yellow of the flower.

Actually I cannot retain the difference as I flip between the L and R images. I suspect that I like the L (left) one best.
I am fairly sure that experts would say that the shot lacks contrast in its current B & W. There is just not enough black. Imagine a deep red tulip's black.
o see if you can jack up the contrast.

Yes the F4 was my favourite, and are entering it in a photo contest, but not the one I showed you one using proper B&W contrast filters
