Just got my Canon EF100 Macro thanks to you lot :lol:

And it's much harder than I thought. I popped out to the pond to see what I could get and this was the only usable one. I have no idea what this spider is, I can see me having to buy a bug book as well :D

Thanks, if it wasn't for the lens I would have probably never noticed it.

That looks like the one, how do you ID things, on the web or can you recommend any good books.

Luckily he's only about 8/10mm across :)

Great shot Mark,:D he/she looks like he's testing the water on the leaf, perhaps he was thinking of going for a paddle.

It's a nice shot. :) Sometimes it takes a lot of patience and more than one try. At least it does for me. LOL

It does look like a wolf spider.

I'm not sure what kinda spider it is, but it's not a wolk spider, take a look http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolf_spider
