Hi everyone

These are the last pictures (not that i got many) from my last outing to Ranoch Moor and the places around Corrour station.
Hopefully the next time i`ll be up there,it will be covered in snow.
For some of the pictures i have use slightly higher iso as it was very windy that day and i had to keep the S/S quite higher than usual, even though the camera was on a sturdy tripod.

Loch Ossian and ben na Lap

Sron an Lagain Ghairbh as seen from Loch Ossian
Thats where i had to sit on the tripod,very windy.Iso 200 - s/s 1/250 (not like me,is it?):lol::lol::lol::lol:

Lovely photography as ever Dimitri, and hopefully after the Glencoe meet I'll have got some idea of how you do it. If not, then at least I can mug you and pinch your camera. ;)

Lovely shots Dimitri

And I get to pick a favourite

All of them have excellent vibrant colours

No:1 for me mate ;)

The wee burn leads the eye excellently to the loch and mountains.

Great to see lovely clear conditions, will they ever come back ? :(

It was the only option i had Scott,as i had to stay away from the lochside, high winds and rough water you see mate.;)

Dimitri, your work is beautiful, as I've come to expect. I enjoy studying your photos to try and learn why you shot and composed it one way versus another and what you were trying to achieve. I then try and incorporate some of the things I've learned from you and others here into my own work. I've just come back from a relaxing week in the North Carolina mountains with many photos. Any yes, I did actually think, "How would Dimitri shoot this" when I composed and shot some of the photos.

Hi Jeff
Thanks for the nice input.
The truth is that whenever i visit a place,i tend to look around fist and find wich part would be good and photogenic.
After i find it,i start looking for a good angle and fg interest to composse the shot, without a good compossure you cann`t express yourself and make others see what exactly you see.
Then i just sit down, relax, and start looking through the viewfinder, and while the tripod/filters and everything else comes out,its time for the final shot.
If i don`t like what i see through the viewfinder,i have no chance for others to like it either.
And some times the best thing is to keep things simple, don`t confuse the viewers.
Thats as much as i can help for just now.:)
Very nice series, Dimitri. You may yet convince me to visit Scotland.
I`m doing my best Stan, doing my best.

Yes it would Mike,be patient and i`ll get one (better one hopefully) this coming winter.
When i see a place that i really like,i tend to go back at different seassons that i think it would look better.
Nice indeed D i m i t r i _ I especially like # 2.
Thanks B,much appreciated.

What can i say Trevor?
I get lucky with the weather if not with anything else in my life.

Well Randy
Again thank you very much for all these lovely things you say about me.
If you keep thinking like this, eventually you`ll find yourself thinking in a positive way and the whole thing will become a 2nd nature to you.
Just look for the beauty of each place and then try to get your compossure right.
If it helps...some times i lift my hands and make a square shape to look through, just like you would with a viewfinder.
Do not be afraid to get down low and get dirty if it means that you`ll get a super low angle view with textures of the ground if you have nothing else to use as a fg.
Don`t forget your DOF either, you need to have the whole place in focus most of the time,so a good small aperture is a must.
Do not go above f 13 though as your 350 sensor will start deffracting and give you soft images.
And basicly Randy,if and whenever there is something that i can help you with,do not hesitate to PM me buddy.
Best regards.:D
