I just got a new S50--- great little camera. But in the display picture mode when there are no pictures on the CF card and the "no image" message appears on the screen, there seems to be a red pixel illuminated behind the "m". It's not visible under any other conditions.

Is this normal? I'm inclined to just ignore it- unless it's a big problem or could turn into one.

I think Canon expect over 5 bad Pixels on the LCD before they will exchange it. If you are sure its only on the LCD and not on the CCD then I personally wouldn't worry about it.
