Whenever I print from photoshop, my prints have printed vertical lines and blank vertical lines running through them. My printer is aligned and it works perfectly when using the Canon Easy Photo Print software. I can't figure out why I can't print from photoshop.
I have a Canon i850 and I'm using photoshop elements 2.0.
Thanks for any help,
Dave

Hi
I who know nothing need more info.
1: does you're printer print OK from all other software.
2: does PS print from your other/borrowed/previous printers.
3: Are you using the latest printerdriver for you printer.
Only after the answers the above can anyone offer a solution.

Answers to your questions.
My printer works fine from other software.
I never used or tried photshop with any other printers.
I am using the latest printerdriver for my printer.
My printer is a Canon i850. It is less than six months old. The printer works fine with all other aplications. I have printed out many photos on it though the canon easy photoprint software. When printing through photoshop, it leaves gaps across the width of the paper and it also prints dark lines across the width of the paper.
Thanks for any input.

Hi
I would guess that you've done something "odd" in page setup within PS. Borrow a different printer & test is all I can offer.

Two things you could check.
- Edit > Color Settings > set to no color management
- Edit > Preferences > Memory & Image Cache > set cache levels higher, set Memory Usage higher.
If your computer has too little memory, add more. Check how much memory your graphic card has on board. For example, I have 1GB RAM and 256MB on my graphic card and these two make a huge difference in all areas of performance. I have the Canon BJC i9100, the wider version of the i950, and it works flawlessly and very fast.
I have the impression your machine is shoveling your graphics to the printer in small pieces off the hard drive and therefore the banding. Print files can be very large.
