Ok-just a fun thread this one;)
While checking out the review page at DPreview i noticed the incredibly ugly looking kodak easyshare p880
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/kodakp880/
Does anyone know of an uglier digital camera?
Also what is your favorite camera for shear good looks? There are lots of seriously good looking designs these days so this one may be harder!
SLR's can be nominated of course but don't expect too much respect if you vote for the most expensive model ;)
I havent though about it much but i guess my favorite would be the olympus Mju digi's. I have no idea wether thay are actually nice to hold and use but they sure look interesting

350D with the 17-85 IS USM. I dunno why, but this combo looks totally sweet. The 17-85 on the 20D just doesn't have the same 'look' to me. I should take some pics to demonstrate. 350D with 400 f/5.6L is another outstanding combo that sticks in my mind. I have handled and shot this (my 350D, borrowed 400).
The 5D and 24-105 looks good, too. But even though I don't own that combo, the 24-70 looks even better in terms of appearance.

I think the 1DMkIIN with the 24-70L is the best looking combo I've yet seen.

The best looking combo would be whatever one I am holding, I can only improve the cameras looks ;)

I've always been a tad partial to the 20D and the grip with the 85mm f/1.8...

any of you remember this ugly sucker? The Kodak DC210 Digital Camera. It was the first digital camera to topple 1 million pixels on the CCD. My friend had this one. i told him it was ugly as sin. I still joke w/ him today that the footprint of this camera isn't far off from my 20D.:D:D

I don't believe there was any narrative to accompany the photo...heck, I can't even remember where I found the thing. It just gave me a chuckle when I saw it.
Sorry, Ron.

I can't think of the ugliest but the cutest little digital I've seen lately is the Samsung Digimax L85. I like the retro styling.

Some but ugly camera's here..
But to my eyes,. the Ugliest are Sony.. (almost all of them) and in particular were the CD-R type units (also the stupidest Idea ever!)

What's woprse,. and not so evident fropm the pics,. is the sheer scale... That first one was a true giant.. larger than a 1D.. and the others are huge too. Since they had to fit a CD-R in them.. they were just huge.. but otherwise the tech/quality etc.. was the same as the smallest pocket cam!

I think Kodak and Fuji were trying to produce the worst looking and perhaps most problematic SLRs (digital or film) they could. I suppose they look okay if viewed straight on, but form and function appear to be completely missing from the backend.

The coolest one for ME is the 70-200 2.8 IS L on the rebel xt
I held this combo at the store and it transformed the XT into something way better then when it has the crap kti lens on.

The ugliest digital cameras are built in to your cell phones.
The best looking is the 30D with the 85L mounted to it from PMA this year.

Does this one count?
The camera is basically the pod and it is digital. I think it is sexy, but then I know how well it works and how much it costs.
http://www.longwatcher.com/images/Event_SPIRITT%20flight%20test/_I0S2058_edit_web_Proteus.jpg
The name of the camera (or sensor) is SPIRITT and it is flying on the Proteus (A Scaled Composites/Burt Rutan design). And is my pet sensor which I hopes goes into production. Not because I will get money, because I won't, but because it does some very cool stuff.

Tim:
That wins the prize for sexiest, for sure. Does POTN have a neck strap that will fit it?
Imagine: a digital camera that doesn't use a camera bag, but needs a hangar instead. Very cool.
Longwatcher

Not for the camera, but the neck strap "might" work for carrying the 2 TB of hard drives needed for the images. :)
I did have a POTN neck strap on when I took the picture though.

Work had the middle one. Worse, they made me use it. Ahh.... days gone by.
I hated the thing, you used to have to reformat and rewrite and close the disks and this and that.. what a nightmare. And the worst part was that while I was at company events, taking pictures, the camera would take ten seconds to write to disk, and/or randomly depending on its mood, would throw me a write error. It was tremendously sensitive. We used CDRW disks, not write-once disks, and if anybody scratched the disk, that would only exacerbate the problem.
Far and away the most horrible one was the floppy version. Oh god, let me forget. The vodka, it does nothing!!!
Anyway.. screw the vodka.. the 5D with 24-105, 70-200 and 430EX do a far better job of comforting me. Heck even my 350D with 17-85 and 430EX utterly, completely rules compared to whatever that was.

Yeah, it looks ugly, but don't insult it, otherwise it'll transform into three robots and mash the hell out of your dSLR...

Have to add, I like how my Rebel XT looks when its in full battle gear mode, ie 580EX, 70-200 2.8IS, and battery grip. Sure doesn't look like a consumer SLR when it looks like this:

I can't believ I'm posting on this thread, but since there are so many digicams, I'll stick to dslrs, except to mention that Pentax digicam that looks like a radar gun is really really really really ugly.
Now for dslr's, it's gotta be the Olympus E330. Looks like someone stepped on a dslr and crushed where the viewfinder is suppose to be. Why in the world would you want a dslr that looks like a digicam? I don't know.
Now here is a bit of controversy. I like how Nikon's look better than Canon's, especially my 1D series. I don't like that soft rounded edges of the Canon, especially around the viewfinder. I like the sharper edges of the Nikon and how their rubber covering feels. I've held the D2X and it feels so much better in my hand and forgive me, that stupid red triangle by the grip is even visually pleasing to me.
Overall, I'm not into specific brands, I mainly care about the image, but since we're talking just about the looks, I thought I'd chime in.

Sexiest PnS has to be the Sony T9. I was playing with it today and wow it is pretty.
1-series with an L is always nice. 24-105L or 85L wowowow.
Leica Digital-Modul-R might actually be sexier though =)
As for ugliest... don't really know any.
