I just performed some test shots at different apertures with the Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 at the maximum focal length.

Camera: EOS 350D
Lens: Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 EX DG HSM
camera settings (all pictures): focal length 200mm, ISO 100, 0 EV, partial-metering, tripod, cable shutter release, no PP, 100% crop, High/fine jpeg setting in camera, parameter 1

Flowers were approx. 40 feet away across the street from my house, focus-point is on the flower directly above the light.

What do you think? Does it look like I got a decent copy?

Thanks. I think I'm going to like this lens.

I hope you should.. It acts simply perfect. Just like mine. I've always admired the performance and optical quality of this lens. Congrats on owning such a nice piece of glass!

I sure like my Sigma 70-200. It's heavy enough you'll want a POTN neck strap if you plan to carry it around all day, like I've been known to do. :D

The first shot in this thread (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=184625)is a 100% crop of a shot I took yesterday.
