a sea bird, looks very like a seagull from a distance but these are called 'terns'
they have a forked tail and long narrow wings
and I think this one has a sore leg
slightly oof >

Looks like he is about to do a two step dance in the first shot marie. Nice clear image, but he looks more like a black headed seagul to me.
In the scond image there is quite a vaiety of birds. Good shots.

you are more then likely right Anthony
I kept looking and looking at the bird and wondering
but never checked properly any further after I rang a lady who has a guesthouse right beside that piece of land
she said it was terns
the black head had me a little confused
I looked up the dictionary then (re tern)
it never mentioned a black head
but as she would know the birds well, being almost outside her front door,I thought it had to be what she said.
it's all my own fault for not double checking
or treble checking:lol:
(as I have a birdy book somewhere)
many thanks
I am delighted to know

Very nice shots of the Black-headed gull (and mixed with Swans in the second shot!) You are so lucky to live in Ireland. I hope to visit someday. The scenery and numbers of seabirds (not to mention history) draws me there...

Wonderful shots Marie, A much nicer looking bird than a seagull, we refer to gulls around here as "Dump Turkeys" they always seem to hang around dumps. even miles away from the the ocean.

You have a thriving bird community there, Marie.
Your third picture of the houses, autos and birds is also a very nice shot.

very many thanks Sandy, Dan, Joe and Stan
not sure if there is a dump around

I like that bay shot a lot! It would look great on a wall, wouldn't it?
