Hello!

I'm a grad student, taking an Instructional Media class. The prof has a list of shots he wants us to be able to take, but I'm not sure if my camera does it.

I have a Canon ZR70. He wants a time lapse shot. Is there a way to do this, without getting another camera?

Thank you!

I am answering only because I have seen no other responses.

I don't know that camera, but I would imagine if you can take a picture with it by using a computer's controls, you could write a batch program to take a picture at a set interval, if no other method is available.

Just a suggestion.

I assume you've gone through your camera manual, and found no direct function. Perhaps the PC software has something?

If not, your camera can take pictures, so perhaps that would suffice, and you can then load them into the PC software and make an animation with them. Check with your instructor for ideas too. I would expect him to have some helpful ideas for all the students in the past whom have not had time lapse capable cameras.

THank you! I'll check the software to see if I can make it do this. The professor is of little help -- his solution is to get another camera to complete this one assignment. He's nuts.

Thank you!

I'm assuming the Canon ZR70 you are referring to is a camcorder. If so, check your user's manual for "Multi-Image Screen" in the "Recording" section of the manual. I think that's what you are looking for for doing time-lapse video.

Advising you to get another camera is an easy out.

Perhaps you could borrow a classmates camera as an option before buying or renting.
