I'm using a Viking 512mb card with an Imation Flashgo! 2.0 card reader attached to a USB 2.0 port with latest XP drivers. I am downloading 116 images (total of 183 meg) in about 90 secs, or about 2 meg a second.

From what I've been reading about USB2.0 this seems quite slow, any ideas as to why it could be slow?

I tried the same download from the G2, and it was downloading at 1/4 that speed, and also Zoombrowser hung each time on the 26th photo being downloaded, strange.

I have .5 gig memory, 2.4 ghz P4, 7200rpm drive running at 35 meg/sec write in performance tests, so I can't understand where the performance bottleneck is.

Cheers
Sean

It is most likely the reaching the limit of yuor cards speed. The Vikings are "standard" speed. I have a Viking 512,.. and it is a good deal slower on downloads than my Transcend 30X card.

But 90 seconds for a 116 images is still a LOT faster than you would get using a USB1 card reader :)
