Man of 1000 Ages

Hi, everyone,

I'm new to posting on this forum. I've been looking around for a good month now and have seen some beautiful pictures and taken advice I've seen given in the forums.

I thought perhaps I'd post a couple of images from my recent trip to Almaty, Kazakhstan for others to critique. I'm very interested in what others have to say outside of those who were on the trip with me. Thanks a lot!

Kamal

This is Almaty at night:

This next one is sunrise (as a result of an 11-hour time difference, I saw many of these)

I like your pictures but two things ran through my mind ( appreciate that the closest that I have evern been to this country (if my memory serves me right) was in the pages in the book; " Waiting for Winter":

1: I was trying to make the link to your title "Man of 1000 Ages", and I could not. Is related to Kazakhstan ?

2: A web search identified a site that the City itself seems to run. They have posted local images. Their seem told a wider daytime story about the historical sites and the geographical features.

My critique then would be that these images are fine as far as night travel scenes go.

Hi, Howie,

Thanks for your reply. As for "Man of 1000 Ages," it actually comes from a Marillion song called "Man of 1000 Faces."

And Kazakhstan does seem to have a lot of natural beauty. There were some very nice mountains and canyons. I didn't get to explore too much; I was there for a Computer Science conference. But if you do want to get a better feel for the scope of sites in Almaty, I have a bunch more pictures from the trip here:
