Im new to this board, and very glad I found it. I just bought a 52mm lens adapter for my G3. Can anyone help me find the best wide angle lens to buy for the G3?

I simply do not know where to go to find a good one.

Thank you.

If price is a big consideration and you don't mind the barrel distortion, you should check out the Raynox DCR720. It's 0.72x, which should give you ~25mm equiv. That's like 3 or 4 zoom steps wider than your G3's full wideangle.

Raynox also has a wider 0.66x, but the image quality is not so good although it doesn't have the barrel distortion.

You can find some comparisons of various wide converters here:

To see more details about the Raynox converters, including some image comparisons, check here:

If you want to see the barrel distortion of the DCR720, you can see it here:

FWIW, I originally considered the DCR720 myself, but ended up going w/ the Canon 0.7x instead. It's >2x the price, much bigger and has no front threads, but it also does not have the barrel distortion and should have somewhat better overall image quality and less light loss me thinks.
