Here is one I did yesterday using the 70-200 lens with no close up len(s) and no extension tubes - Just all lens. Its not what you usually see here but I figured I would post it anyway - it was posted in nature and animals but I wanted some feedback from the macro crowd even though it not as amazing as a lot of the shots I see here.

Nice shot. Slightly blown yellows and the composition would be better if the flower was not so central- should be cropped to move it over to the right.

Thanks for the feedback Brian. Something more like this? Not really sure what to do about the slightly blown yellows. What would you recommend?

Think that looks better :).
The blown yellows are something you'll almost always get in strong sunlight with a flower like this. One way of looking at it is it makes the pic look like a very sunny day (which it is). If you want to try doing something you may be able to select the blown yellow colour and darken it a bit using levels (in photoshop) but the result often doesn't look right. I assume you weren't shooting RAW?
