Hi,

Here is a shot from the park today, I was playing around at f/1.8 for a bit and after a pretty quick conversion in CS2 I came up with this.

Hope some of you will like it, I'm personally unsure about it!

a bit too dark for me. however, I love the composition and the feel of it...cold, dark, steele, concrete, etc. good capture.

Cheers Don, I'm on a different monitor to the one that I processed it on and it does look a tad dark here too- I might just give it a little brighten!

100% better...you can see more detail in the rail. Nice one.

Great, cheers for the spot! I'm never too sure about things like that so it's great to get other peoples opinions, and I was scared to make it too bright as I felt it would lose some of the mood/'feel' to it.

I'd even try some other techniques in cs2 like giving it a sephia tone or maybe adding some noise to make the photo look really old. Just an idea or two.

jez...2:30 A.M. and you're on POTN...I applaud you. It's 9:30 p.m. here - on the other side of the pond, you know, the side that doesn't pay attention to the world cup!!!

Yeah well I'm kind of nocturnal, become the norm for me since I went to university. Your only saying you don't pay attention to the world cup because you got knocked out! Not only that but USA were the dirtiest team.... at least England can try claim to be better at one thing!

USA the dirtiest team, really? I didn't even know. I honestly don't like soccer, er, I mean football. I'm an american football and baseball fan. What I do love about the World Cup is the passion that people have for their country when the tourney rolls around. It's great sports viewing material.

Yep, 2 red cards I think in 3 games! In my eyes (trying not to be biased!) the world cup is the greatest sporting event in the world.

Ah...those darned red cards. Those are for when you chip a finger nail right? Sorry...just a little early morning humor before the first cup of coffee.

And I would agree...while I'm not a huge soccer fan, I will catch some of the world cup or at least follow it on sports casts and online just to stay up to speed.

Well they're normally for two footed lunges / headbutts etc :p

I love a good narrow DOF shot. :) The conversion seems a little bit flat tho...

Thanks. Like I said, the conversion was very quickly done using CM without paying much attention!
