I'm especially loving number 2.

First one all I see is the horses butt and the last one the colt is hidden in shadows

I like the second and the cribber. 1 and 4 looks a little soft to me, and it looks like you had some harsh sun to deal with. If you were shooting with your 28-135 did pretty good all things considered. Try cropping more esp with the foal, as the background of houses only distracts.

I love your second shot!

The lightning and the frame created by the bars are fantastic!

thanks everyone for all of your comments.

yes, I currently only have the 28-135mm... I bought my camera/lens at the very end of may (first SLR).... after coming on to this site and learning more about photography, I think I will end up selling my 28-135 and acquiting a canon 70-200L and the tamron 28-75. I wouldnt actually mind a L lens in the lower range, but I am just a grad student and my budget does not allow. I also need a decent flash... the list goes on... :)

Yes that 70-200 will help alot! I just went digital last year and understand...It will only get better and better for you!
