I am in the market for a Sigma 70-200 2.8 lens.

I have looked at
B&H
Adorama
Delta International
Ebay

So far Delta has the best price. Has anybody bought from Delta? Was it a good experience? Is there an outlet that I have not searched for this lens that is reputable?

Thanks

B&H and Adoramam have really good ratings.
I have heard good things about Delta, (but I have no first hand expeirience) Delta does sell "gray market" itmes though (but they will say so) so beware.

Most of the reputable vendors will have about the same price,. if you find a large price reduction,.. then you may very well be looking at a "bad" vendor.

FYI if you are at all interested I may be selling my 70-200mm f/2.8 Sigma in mid-november. I am expecting a Canon version and intend to do a side by side test. If there is a noticeable improvemnet in performance for the Canon over the Sigma I willsell the Sigma,. if not I will sell the Canon. The Sigma is about 4 months old.

I'm looking to pick up the Sigma 70-200 before the holidays as well. I was going to hold out for the Canon, but I'm becoming convinced that the Sigma will fit what I want to do and save me some money.

I bought my 50-500 through Delta. It's a gray markey with a mack warranty. I bought it in April and it's incredible. I just love it. The transaction with Delta was great, but it's the only time I've used them. I can't really speak for customer service as I never had to contact them after ordering from the web.

Good Luck with the purchase....

Delta International is an excellent place to buy. I've bought from them many items from camera bodies to lenses. They sell both 'US' an 'imported' items. Their pricelist exactly tells you what kind of item you buy. Most imported items come with international warranty and/or mack warranty. Since I live in the Netherlands I mostly 'prefer' the imported items. Every time I ask them a question about pricing or availability, their answer (mostly from Linda or Betty) comes quickly. I like this place :-)

Armand

I bought a Sigma 70-200 from Delta a few weeks ago. It was delivered the day after I ordered it! I would order from them again.

I just purchased a 50-500mm from them last week. No problems. Great lens.

Ordered a flash from Delta International 2 nights ago (by far the best price around--even with shipping).

Yesterday got an e-mail apologizing because they were out of stock but would have some in next week. I was offered an opportunity to cancel the order or, if I maintained the order and could wait, they would remove the shipping fee (I'm in Hawaii and shipping is over $30) and ship it to me immediately upon their receipt of the flash from the manufacture/distributer.

Now that is customer service! They've got my business now and in the future. (Wish Canon Customer Service could learn from these guys;-)

Delta is incredible for price and service! I had a bad copy of Canon's 16-35 and when I called customer service, they offered to ship the replacement immediately. My best rating for Delta International.

I am in the market for the Sigma 500mm Ex APO. I checked Delta's web site and was troubled by two things:
1. No refunds on items costing more then $2,000 - store credit only.
2. No physical presence - web store only.
Resellerratings.com reviews do however rave about them. No rating on Bizrate.

If you are looking for Sigma lenses, try Best Photo Pro on Ebay. I bought the Sigma 180mm macro from them this past Fall for $490, that's $200 less than B&H. It came with the 4year USA warranty. They delivered fast. Can't beat that!
