I would like to acquire a tripod for the G2, but I would like light to transport it in my trips. Some person can me recommend some model. Thanks

If you want something that is very easy to carry, I would suggest the Clamperpod. I have one for my G2 and it comes in very handy. When my family and I went to Disney World, I took it along in my camera case, (it beats carrying a tripod around with you) and instead of asking someone all the time if they could take a picture of my family (with me in the picture) I would just find a place to clamp it on and take the shot using my remote.

It's not great, but for $18 at WalMart I found one that fits in my backpack. Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done.

I have a tripod from Wal-Mart too. I use it for low light shots. It's very cheap and light, but not stable at all. If you use it don't forget to switch the camera to self-timer mode or use a remote.

I purchased a Velbon Maxi 343E. It is lightweight and comes with a ball head. http://bermangraphics.com/coolpix/velbon.htm
It's light, not stable like a full size Gitzo or Bogen, and isn't tall enough without extending the center post, but it's very adequate for light duty.

I'd suggest looking at what REI carries.

I personally use an Ultrapod, though got it via lensmateonline.com. Slightly different.
