This is a series from the new Smithsonian Air and Space hangar in Dulles, VA. If you love airplanes or spaceships, this is worth the trip. Just a heads up if you go -- no tripods are allowed. All of these were shot with a EF-S 10-22.

These might be more appropriate in the transport section Ryan.

The Enola Gay looks nice though, I like that shot! The first shot with the Boeing and the Cocorde looks awesome too!

It looks like a very interesting place, and your Enola Gay shot in particular is a cracker.

Those are fantastic! I didn't even know this place existed. I'll definately have to make time to get out there next time I'm in DC.

Nice series, the Enola Gray shot is very nice. What's the story behind it- ww2 bomber?

The Enola Gay was the plane that dropped "Little Boy" (which was the first atomic bomb used in anger) over Hiroshima on 6th August 1945.

I would have thought that this part of history was well known to anyone beyond grade shcool in the U.S... ??? Truly scary if it is not being taught in schools. Totally understandable on the other hand for people outside the US not to know. My point being I don't think age would be a factor.

The Enola Gay is the top shot.. just amazing composition and lighting. Fantastic job!

Forget schools. Fat Man and Little Boy was a movie as well. There are books somewhere on this planet too.

I understand a lack of aviation knowledge or historical interest can cloud recent history but this isn't obscure history.

"Sweet Enola Gay son!"

Didn't mean to start a controversy! Just a passing comment. But the current generation have never understood what it was like to grow up with the threat of nuclear war, so no reason why they should understand about the details of enola gay!

Sorry if I sounded a little stern.. it's my lack of smilies :)

Man.. looking at that pic again.. the golden lighting.. simply fantastic. I think it could be a poster for the museum itself.

Great shots... It is extremely difficult to capture the scale of this place… Looks like you did fine… ;)
