Last week I bought sandisk 512MB card. when I tried with 20D, it did not worked. and I could not even format the card. It was giving me Err 99.

I already have a 1GB card. which does not have any "made in" stamp! But this new one was marked as Made in China on card itself.

I went to shop, and showed him the problem. He gave me another piece of same brand/ type for try!! and that one worked properly.

My SanDisk Ultra IIs have Made In China stamped on them. I know for a fact they're genuine since they came from B&H Photo Video. I'm guessing you just got a defective card. It happens, thus warranties & exchange policies.
