Need help stamping a signature or text onto photos

Hey there,
I have just started trying to figure out how to stamp a copyright signature onto my photos using photoshop. What I have been doing is creating a text layer and putting it on top of my photos. The problem is that this takes for ever when you are trying to do this to 50 shots. Is there any way using photoshop or some other program to do this all at once?

Any advice in stamping photos or suggestions on how to easily and professional put my name and info onto my photos would be appreciated.

I'm not sure if this is the right way but it will work.
First put all the images you want to stamp in 1 folder by themselves
1. Open an image
2. Window...actions
3. Create a new action and name it (left of trash can)
3a. Make sure it is recording, little red dot
4. Create the text, fix the opacity- wtv you wish to do with it
5. Stop the action (left of record)

Then
1. File...automate...batch
2. In the 2nd bar in the play box select the action which you just made
3. In the source box, make sure the folder is selected in the drag box
4. Choose the file with all the pictures in it and press ok
