OK, this is weird. I have a 1 gig CF card in my Rebel XT, which used to give me 111 RAW images. I just formatted it and the camera tells me I have room for 99. What's going on?

I'd like to know also, I have the same issue.

What is your card? Mine is a Sandisk Ultra II.

The number of photos available depend on the settings of the camera. Changing the ISO, for one example, can effect the number of images available.

a rebel xt will give you 121 pictures @iso100, 111 @iso 400, and 99@iso 1600. it's perfectly normal. these are estimates anyway. i've taken over 140 pics on a 1gb card with isos from 100 to 1600, so don't fret about it

It is also just a "educated" guess based on previosly stored images.
