I have pretty much decided to purchase a 5D in august for my second body, i will have enough cash by then. I was reading through the favorite body/lens combination threat and wanted to hear from all you 5D owners on what your favorite lens is with this camera and maybe see some photos of that combo as I have only seen a 5D a few times but have only seen it with a 24-105 on it when i briefly played with it at a camera stor ein michigan. Also I would like to see any photos you have from your 5D with the lenses I have (see sig). Last, i am considering the canon fisheye lens with the camera so any photos with the 5D + fisheye combo would be awesome as well! thanks ahead of time for all those who reply. I just want to continue to be excited about the purchase so i don't back out when the time comes :)

The 24-105 stays on the 5D 90% of the time. Here is a pic I took of SF a couple weeks back:

Ok, since San Francisco is the subject du jour, and you want 5D images with certain lenses . . .

Feel free to browse through the gallery I have in my signature (exhibitEngine). Most of the shots in there were taken with the 5D. All exif data is recorded under the shot so you can see what lenses were used.

There is a $300 rebate on it if you purchase before July 15th. That is what pushed me to get mine...I've had it 2 whole days!

Canon's fisheye, I've heard, is not up to the "L" standards. Canon has some difficulty with wide angles.
Have you seen your 17-40 @ 17 on a FF? That's really wide, but rectilinear IIRC. You might want to consider the MC Zenitar 16mm f/2.8 which is pretty sharp and cheap. Probably not sharper than Canon's fish, but a lot more bang for buck (since it's cheapcheapcheap)

i have not seen the 17-40 on FF, but i have seen the 10-22 on a 20d so i have an idea of how wide it really is meant to be. Thanks for the info on the other lens, i will certainly check into it.

what I can see from your gear list is you don't need 24-105mm b'cos you have 24-70mm lens but what you need is 100-400mmL and you will be ok. just me

oh, i am not interested in the 24-105, i chose the 24-70 over it for the f/2.8. My lens want list consists of 100-400, 135 f/2, 35 f/1.4L, and a fisheye possibly. also i've been playing around with the idea of the canon soft focus lens but i dont' know about that one yet, its cheap though.
