First time I've shot fireworks. The last two have a building in the composition because I was leaving and loss my vantage point.

I may be going to fireworks in WV on Saturday. My brother is lending me is tripod and will teach me a little about fireworks photography. I'm very excited. I have no idea what I'm doing.

Very well done.....fireworks are always a blast ;) I'm surprised you were able to leave early.

Thanks. Using the 17-55 IS, ISO 1600, f/2.8. One shot mode. AF is almost instant, so as soon as I saw a display I wanted to keep, boom, I shot it.

Thanks, sugarzebra. I wish I had stayed a little longer, now, in hindsight. :)
