After reading far too many stories of the 10D's AF problem , I get the feeing that you have to take both the body and your lens(es) to Canon for repair. What's happening here. Are the lenses suddenly going bad just because we are mounting them on 10D bodies.
Or is it just the 10D body? What can they adjust inside the lens?

If they ( Canon ) "tune up" my lens and then I use it on a different Canon body, will it not be out of calibration for that body?
Can someone ( even a Canon engineer ) help me out here.

And yes my 10D seems to be slightly prone to front focusing, more testing required before I take it in for surgery.

After receiving my 10D a few weeks ago I became concerned it might have a focusing problem (from reading too many focus stories). I tested it on a few subjects and could not get consistent results. I then downloaded the test chart from roger's website and found it had a very slight front focus, not enough to worry about.

The camera's focusing areas are not precise, and it will pick up on an object outside the inscribed mark (as I had read). This can cause 'improper' focusing, as it did in my first tests. Btw, I only use the center focusing area (from 2 years with a D30).

At the camera's first real outing, a vintage race, I found it cannot focus, nor can it track a moving object...NOT! ;) I'll keep it!
