Anyone tried these two lens with Canon 300D?
Sigma is a new len with larger aperture F2.8 but so far not much sample photos with Canon DSLR.
Thanks!

I would say go for the sigma. Tamrons are not as fast in A/F. I just used the Tamron AF-28-200mm Super Zoom F/3.8-5.6 Aspherical XR- (IF) Macro and can say it is the worst lens I have ever used Optically. Every photo taken at 200mm is unusable and soft and it is not much better at 28. If you have the $$ go for the canon 28-135 IS lens it is a winner and a good lens. If not try the Sigma or Tokina but not Tamron.

I disagree with the above comment. The Tamron is a good lens, worth every dollar or euro or yen. Its not an L series. But the cost is far less. Can't shoot wide open at 28 or 200. Otherwise, have been quite satisfied. Great macro capabilities.

I don't know about the Tamron that is in question but I have the 28-75mm f2.8 and it is an incredible lens worth every penny...Dean

What does the poor performance of your Tamron 28-200 have to do with the performance of the Tamron 24-135? No more than a 35-80 Canon has to do with a Canon 28-135.

A Tamron AF 3.5-5.6 24-135mm Aspherical AD IF SP rates 3.51 (Good) -- higher than any listed Canon or Sigma in the Wide-to-Tele Zoom category.
Tamron 28-200s rate 2.63 (sub-average)
The new 24-135 Sigma is not yet rated but the best Sigma in this range -- 3.8-5.6 28-135mm IF Aspherical macro -- rates 2.72 (sub-average)

I use the Tamron 28-200 and am not happy at all with the slow AF in low light-wedding situations...and not always tack sharp either. My vote is Canon or Sigma.
